Hello! My name is Gisselle Costa and I am a Panamanian-American multidisciplinary artist based in Manhattan. I have a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design where I realized my love for storytelling in both visual and written mediums. For as long as I can remember, I have held a fascination for history and literature which has informed my work in innumerable ways as I find deep-rooted connections to past stories of both fact and fiction time and time again. With an extensive background in dance and the performing arts, one could say I have a knack for dramatics within my work, but I shall let the visuals speak for themselves.
Now, you may be asking yourselves, what is a multidisciplinary artist? And you might be surprised to know that I am still figuring that out myself. But I believe that there is strength in not confining myself to one thing when my interests lie in various places. Some places, I have yet to explore. So as I experiment, while building worlds and narratives, I might find that the story is best served in costume design, screenwriting, filmmaking, or other disciplines. At the end of the day, the work I produce is a product of research and most importantly, intuition.
